I Can't Stop Wearing This One Simple Scent

I'm extremely picky when it comes to fragrance.

I've got a sensitive nose, and on top of that, I find most perfumes to be irritating and they usually just end up giving me a splitting headache after about two hours of wear. So whenever I find a scent that doesn't do all that and smells delicious, I get hooked.

That's why I've been in love with Philosophy's line of fragrances for years. They're simple, subtle, and just enough. But I'd be lying if I said there wasn't one bottle that stood out from the rest for me, and that one is Pure Grace.

Pure Grace offers top notes of bergamot, lemon, neroli, and lavender, but don't expect to smell like a flower garden once you spritz it on. It's actually more akin to the scent of a beautiful body soap that you can't wait to hop in the shower with. So it's no mistake that the scent's philosophy is "nothing smells better than soap-and-water clean."

However, anyone who's familiar with the brand knows that this particular scent isn't exactly new — in fact it's become a staple for the company. But Philosophy did take things up a notch recently by introducing the new eau de parfum version of the fragrance.

An eau de parfum offers a more vibrant, longer-lasting scent in comparison to an eau de toilette, which has a lesser concentration of perfume oil.

I've been spraying it on myself, and all over my house since the day it arrived in the mail. Not just because I love the scent itself, but because it reminds me of home.

With the COVID-19 pandemic still unfolding, I've been hesitant to fly, and I really miss being able to physically see my family. But, this perfume, which just so happens to be my godmother's favorite scent, takes me back to the big hug she would give me when I arrived at her front door. That feels like home, and it feels good.

The only (sort of) con when it comes to the new formulation is the fact that the latest version of the scent is slightly pricier than the original eau de toilette. But if you're looking for a fragrance that will linger a little longer, trust me, it's totally worth it.
