God Bless These Two Products For Saving My Nails From Looking Like 2020
Hallelujah and amen.
The year 2020 has basically beaten everyone's ass over the past 10 months — and that includes my nails.
The constant hand washing, sweaty latex glove wearing, and sanitization of everything has my gel polish peeling off way before its time, leaving my natural nails underneath feeling dry and brittle. That's why a few months ago, I had to make the hard decision to put my regular manicures on hold, and cut my nails down while I focused on repair and strengthening.
I've long turned to my old reliable, OPI's Nail Envy, in times of need, which I already know works wonders topically. But this time, I added Rae's Beauty Drops to the mix to see if it could help as well.
The magic of OPI's cult-favorite Nail Envy is in the formula, which includes hydrolyzed wheat protein and calcium to strengthen brittle nails overtime. At the start of every week, I would paint on two layers of the polish, then add an extra coat every other day, as per the directions. The next week, I would remove the treatment and start all over again, then repeat.

As for Rae's Beauty Drops, the formula contains a decent serving of biotin, the don dada of ingredients when it comes to promoting healthy nail (and hair) growth, since it helps to metabolize amino acids.
Now, you guys know I'm going to keep it real with you, so I will say that in the past, taking biotin in pill form has made me break out bad. But, since this product comes in liquid form, I mix the drops with a huge glass of water, and my skin has remained calm and smooth while testing it out — hallelujah.

While my nails naturally grow relatively fast, and even though I was adding these two products to the mix, I obviously wasn't expecting for them to be an overnight sensation. However, after a few weeks, my nails were looking less raggedy. And after a month, they were looking good enough to start showing off again.

It's been about three months since I've been using these products in tandem, and I can confidently say that my nails are officially back in full bad bitch mode. Like, to the point where I'm fine with wearing them *pause for dramatic effect* bare.
So, tell a friend to tell a friend to get hip to this combo if their nails are going through it. They won't regret it — pinky promise.
