The Best Nail Art From the NYFW Spring/Summer 2022 Runways
You don't have to wait until next season to wear these looks.
As far as nail art inspiration goes, the limit does not exist. Whether you're bored of your current nail polish collection or looking for a design to reference at your next manicure appointment, why not turn to the New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022 runways for ideas?
While the focus of NYFW is the understandably the clothes, the fashion oozes right down to the models' fingertips. So, what will everyone's hands look like next season? From subtle your-nails-but-better polish shades to bold French tips, there are options for every manicure vibe.
And the good new is that unlike the garments seen on the runways, you don't have to wait until next season to wear these looks. Ahead, all of the best manicure moments from the NYFW Spring/Summer 2022 shows.
The French manicure is still going strong for spring 2022. At LaQuan Smith, models wore stiletto nails with angled black tips.
A sheer pink polish is to spring, as an oxblood one is to fall. Legendary manicurist Deborah Lippmann created a pretty sheer manicure for Brandon Maxwell using the shade Love At First Sight from her namesake nail polish line.
Studs, zippers, and fringe are synonymous with NYC fashion, so KISS brand ambassador Gina Edwards incorporated them into the manicures for Rebecca Minkoff's 20th anniversary collection, inspired by her label's hometown. The nail artist used the brand's Salon Acrylic Natural Nails in Crystal and ImPRESS Press-On Manicure in Evanesce to create the looks.
A classic red manicure is always a good idea. If you're in the market for a new go-to polish, OPI's Art Walk in Suzie's Shoes is a long-wear option that stays chip-free for days.
The French manicure also appeared on the Michael Kors runway. This time, nail artist Jin Soon Choi gave models almond-shaped white tips using the shade Absolute White from her nail polish collection.
Nail artist Julie Kandalec looked to the sky for Rodarte's nail looks. "I was Inspired by the various shades of the sun as it evolves both during sunrise and sunset over the desert," she says.
Kandalec used Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer shades of "creamy nude, crisp tan, opalescent lilac, butter yellow, and apricot as well as shimmery white and pink," to create a handful of different manicures, then topped them off with 3D stars and half-crescent moons.
In addition to the mystical manicures, Kandalec created a zebra stripe look to match one model's eye makeup motif.
Tory Burch kept things simple with a taupe manicure and oxblood pedicure. The exact shades the models wore? Tenoverten's Canal and Church.
The Blonds turned the runway into a sci-fi VR fantasy. To finish off the looks, CND created five different over-the-top manicures, including these blue and pink chrome nails.
