It wouldn’t be a huge leap to assume that Jennifer Garner’s always-glowing skin is a product of her optimistic outlook and infectious sense of humor (we’re still not over her relatable reaction to finally finishing watching The Office with her kids). But when it comes to her beauty routine, the actress does rely on a few products to help her put her best face forward — and it turns out that some of her go-tos are budget-friendly, too. The product in particular that Garner calls her “MVP” is on sale at Amazon this Black Friday for just $23.

Garner, a Neutrogena brand ambassador, told People in March 2019 that the brands’ Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Oil is one of her go-to products for its anti-aging benefits. “My skin has always been sensitive to retinol and would turn bright red if it was too strong,” she said. “But this [line-smoothing] oil doesn't freak my skin out.” She’s not alone in loving this drugstore superhero — the product has over 1,500 perfect ratings on Amazon.

“This is the best retinoid product, and I have tried many from RetinA to Paula's Choice to other drugstore brands,” one five-star reviewer wrote. “It made my skin softer, smoother, firmer, and more even-toned.” Another shopper noted that she saw results immediately, while her husband took notice after a week of use.

Like other retinol products, Neutrogena’s oil is meant to exfoliate and promote cell turnover, effectively smoothing wrinkles and reducing the appearance of dark spots. However, retinol products are typically more of a skincare splurge, with prices that tend to sit at or above $50. That makes Garner’s go-to a standout in the category (who says you can’t take care of your skin on a drugstore budget?).

Some people (like Garner) can find retinol products to be especially drying or irritating to sensitive skin. Because this Neutrogena option is an oil as opposed to a serum, it’s comparatively gentler and more hydrating. “I’ve seen a huge improvement in my skin,” another five-star reviewer wrote. “It eliminated small wrinkles around my mouth and forehead. It smells lovely and instantly hydrates my extremely dry face.”

With a normal price of $25, Neutrogena’s Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Oil is already a budget-friendly buy for anyone looking to upgrade their anti-aging skincare routine, but it’s an  even better deal with its current Black Friday sale price. If you missed the sale on this product earlier this month, now’s a good time to add it to your cart. Your skin will be glowing by the new year.
