Here's your fun fact of the day: Curél, the popular body care brand you've likely come across in U.S. drug stores, has a Japanese skincare line. The brand launched in the U.S. in 1984, and after being acquired by a Japanese corporation in 1998, Curél's gentle and moisturizing skincare dropped exclusively in Japan in the early 2000s. Fast forward to today, Curél claims it's become the number one dry and sensitive skincare brand in Japan — and now its products are finally available in the U.S, too.

Curél's skincare lineup on Amazon includes face washes, moisturizers, essences, and a face spray; the Deep Moisture Spray, which is particularly popular, has sold out multiple times in the United Kingdom, per the brand. Infused with ceramides, a lipid found in skin that retains moisture, the ultra-fine spray can be applied to both the face and body, and is meant to be used whenever your skin feels like it needs a moisture boost.

Hope Mitchell, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist, previously told InStyle that ceramides make up about half of the skin barrier. "They're basically the mortar between skin cells that holds cells together to make up the skin barrier," she said. Mitchell also explained that as we age, our skin's ceramides decrease, which can increase fine lines and wrinkles. Her recommendation? Using a topical product with ceramides (like Curél's Deep Moisture Spray) to help protect a compromised skin barrier.

I've been using the face spray for a couple of weeks after the brand gifted it to me, and I've fallen in love with it. I have combination skin that's been extra dry and irritated after a harsh winter, but the spray has kept my face soft and moisturized. I especially like to use it before applying a tinted moisturizer or foundation because it smooths and plumps the skin. If you suffer from dry, flakey skin around your mouth, nose, or eyebrows, this is a must-add to your makeup prep routine.

The brand's Foaming Face Wash and Intensive Face Moisturizer are also solid products to add to your skincare routine. Made with similar, ceramide-packed formulas, the wash is great for gently removing makeup without drying out my skin, while the moisturizer leaves my face feeling super velvety and hydrated.
