Running to the store for a foundation refill was never a quick or easy task for Issa Rae. Due to a lack of shade options at most drugstores, the actress had to drive from neighborhood to neighborhood to try to find a formula close to her skin tone. 

"The most frustrating thing is going to a store in a pinch and trying to get your shade and finding that no one is checking for you. It’s such a gut punch to be like, 'Oh, no one even thought of me. No one is even checking for my skin tone,'" she told InStyle

Brands are beginning to listen up, and Issa Rae has partnered with one of them to ensure no one has to go through that again. The star of Insecure was named a CoverGirl Brand Ambassador back in October, and now her first campaign with the legacy drugstore brand is officially here. She's the face of CoverGirl's TruBlend Matte Made Foundation, which consists of 40 different shade options, making it one of the most inclusive drugstore foundation ranges on the market.

The medium-to-full coverage formula is transfer-proof for up to 12 hours and gives your skin an airbrushed-like appearance in a matte finish. It retails for only $9.

"It feels exciting to partner up with a brand that gets it," she said about her deal with CoverGirl.

The 40 shades are broken into four different numbered ranges—light, medium, tan, and deep. Each shade also has an undertone listed, so you can truly find your perfect match. "I am D50, deep golden. We started using it on the show when you don’t have time to constantly reapply and make sure your makeup is still on," she said.

The campaign, By the Infinite, was inspired by the infinite amount of women who spoke up about the need for foundation diversity, and it officially launches today. You can check out the video above, which ends with a running thank-you list to all those that inspired the product.
