How Stars Wash Their Faces
According to Jourdan her skin routine is a seven-step, five-brand routine filled with cult status products. Her first step is cleansing with the Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser, followed by Pixi Glow Tonic, SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, and Sunday Riley Start Over Eye Cream (see what I mean about the cult status products??). Followed by three Zelens products — Power C Treatment Drops, Luminous Brightening Serum and finally Hydro-Shisho Moisturizer.
"I tend to do a little two-step. I take my makeup off with an oil-based cleanser, then I use my Clarisonic to make sure it's clean. I was joking actually that it's like a Sonicare for my face—I notice when I'm regimented about that I see the difference, and my skin feels healthier."
"I’m not a huge makeup person. I like to keep my skin clean. My skin has to breathe. I have very sensitive skin and I just break out. For me, my skin, with the heat and makeup it just clogs up and it’s just not good for the skin. So I think if you can, just keep [your skin] clean."
"I take all my makeup off and wash my face every night," Duff said. "I use Polish everyday ($75; lancerskincare.com) by Dr. Lancer. And, I also use a lot of oils—I think that just massaging your face and using serums has changed my skin for the better."
"I use a Clarisonic cleansing brush ($99; clarisonic.com) every night," Rossum said. "Aside from that, I just wash my face with a bar of soap. My makeup artist is going to have a heart attack. I'm a bar of soap girl."
"I actually don’t wash my face in the morning. I wash it at night in the shower so my pores are open. I have sensitive skin and dry skin, so all the oils that come out at night, I need to save. I run a wash cloth under the InstaHot or nuke it in the microwave and just set a hot towel on my face for twenty seconds every single day. There are lazy days for sure, but it makes me look like I just went on a 10 minute run."
"Get knocked up! That's my skincare regimen. Babies are really good for your skin. Having a kid is really good for your skin. I feel like my skin has been much better since having a baby."
"I always tell my best friend off because she will go to bed with her makeup on, and I never, ever do that. I always cleanse, tone, and moisturize. I do the whole thing no matter what. I have a cleanser that I love called Esthederm that I swear by, especially when I’m working. The makeup under the lights really gets deep into your pores and this remedies that. As you can tell, I’m really into cleansing!"
"I use Neutrogena makeup remover wipes. They’re a God send. That’s what I use on a daily basis. I don’t wash my face, I just do that. I wash my face once a week. It gets off all your makeup while cleaning your skin and moisturizes it at the same time."
"It’s very long! If I come home from work or performing and I’ve got makeup on, I use makeup wipes to take my makeup off, then I wash my face with my cleanser. And, three nights a week I exfoliate, then I add my moisturizer, then I add my serum, then I add my eye cream, then I put in my retainers and I go to sleep. I’m obsessed with products. You should see my bathroom, there’s so much stuff in there!"
"I wash my face. I use Obagi skin care. It’s a cleanser, toner, and then a really light moisturizer. It’s really fresh and amazing. Then I’ll always do a Caudalie elixir spray after. It makes my skin feel so nice and clean."
"You’d be surprised. I use Pond’s Cold Cream–that’s what I use every night to take my makeup off–and I use this serum called Acta. It’s simple and it works for me. My grandmother used it, so that’s what I use, and she died without a wrinkle on her face, so I'm convinced it works."
"I use coconut oil to wash my face! It’s super cheap. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, I wouldn’t always suggest it but, try it once," Potter advised. "I’ll come home from work, dip my hand into the coconut oil, and make a little paste and put it on my face. Then you put a hot steam clothe over your face—you could even put a couple of drop of lavender oil in the washcloth, or peppermint oil if you want to wake up—and just press it gently on your face. It will take out all the impurities."
