Skeptics Say They're "Stunned" By How Well This Eye Cream Gets Rid of Wrinkles, Puffiness, and Dark Circles

If there's one thing I love more than warming my feet against a toasty radiator on a rainy day, it's an under-the-radar skincare find. Sometimes when I take a look at a product's ingredients I cringe and close the page, never to recommend the find again. Other, better times, an ingredient list makes me hum with delight. Epicuren's eye cream is in the latter category, as it relies on a bounty of plant-based oils and extracts. There's horse chestnut extract, sweet almond oil, vitamin E, evening primrose oil, and aspergillus ferment, along with kukui seed oil, vitamin C, jojoba oil, squalane, and licorice root extract to brighten.

Lest that sound like a bunch of marketing fodder, reviewers beg to differ. "I have used a million products for my face, and I am ALWAYS skeptical of the claims of the products," wrote one such person. "I was stunned at how well this eye serum worked for me. Said effects partially come down to the benefits of horse chestnut extract. Research published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science found that the extract contains "potent anti-inflammatory compounds" called saponins, which "reduce capillary fragility, and therefore help to prevent leakage of fluids into surrounding tissues, which can cause swelling." The extract is also a more powerful antioxidant than vitamin E, the researchers wrote, and demonstrates cell-protective effects.
