The Best Unicorn Makeup Tutorials for Halloween 2018
When it comes to Halloween costumes, it's safe to say that the unicorn is the new black cat. Unfortunately, creating this mythical creature with makeup isn't quite as easy as drawing on some kitten whiskers. To make your Halloween transformation a little easier, we found the three best unicorn makeup tutorials on the Internet.
From bright, colorful eyeshadow to the perfect glittery unicorn tears, these tutorials will have you looking like a Lisa Frank character, and will basically guarantee to score you best-dressed at any Halloween party. Well, unless someone shows up with a badass Eleven.
The Subtle Unicorn
If you want to put the smallest amount of effort into your unicorn costume but still want to come off as clever, this Shay Mitchell gem is for you. Her nine-minute tutorial was actually created for Coachella, but you can definitely whip it out come Halloween. Instead of using a horn headband, Mitchell actually paints on a series of white dots that act as an abstract unicorn horn of sorts.
She finishes off her look with gloss and dual-toned cobalt blue and hot pink eyeshadow. All you really need to finish off this look is a unicorn-themed tee. One quick Google search will show you that's not hard at all.
Glitter Unicorn Tears
Urban Decay jumped on that unicorn bandwagon last year, and honestly, brand's makeup tutorial is still one of the best on the WWW. It features beauty vlogger Kristen Leanne and makeup artist Amanda Rodriguez creating two extreme (yet still doable) unicorn looks.
The entire video is about twelve minutes and includes on-theme makeup options like glittery unicorn tears, a glittery hair part, a lime green cat eye, and rainbow stars. It's full-on Lisa Frank. The best part about the video is that they break down the exact products they use for each aspect of the look, so it's super easy to shop.
Pastel Rainbow Eyes
If you really want to commit to Halloween 2018 costume, follow this seriously impressive tutorial. Twist Me Pretty beauty vlogger Abby Smith created this unicorn how-to, which features a pastel rainbow eyeshadow look that she created with Pur My Little Pony Eyeshadow Palette, super long, voluminous lashes, and hot pink glitter lips. The last few minutes of her tutorial features a unicorn makeup tutorial for children. To finish off the costume, she created another tutorial dedicated to unicorn hair.
While all of these pros created their looks in less than 15 minutes, we recommend giving yourself at least an hour for pre-Halloween prep. When it comes to creating looks based on mythological creatures, mess-ups are bound to happen.
