While those with straight or fine hair may reach for their favorite shampoo two to three times a week, anyone with curls and coils knows that's a huge no-no.

Due to the textured structure of our hair, our scalp's natural sebum has a difficult time making its way down our hair shaft, thus making our strands more prone to dryness and subsequent breakage. That's why it's important for us to infuse moisture into our hair every chance we get — and that starts on wash day.

I typically use a shampoo about once a month to give my hair a deep clean, but on a weekly basis, I'm always reaching for a co-wash (otherwise known as a conditioning cleanser). However, seeing as my hair is super-duper thicc and curly, it's not abnormal for me to go through at least half a bottle of product each wash day. Of course, I want to give my hair what she needs, but I also like to save money and the environment — which is why I swear by Briogeo's Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Rice Hydrating Co-Wash.

Formulated with 97% naturally-derived ingredients, this creamy cleanser gives my hair hella slip, but still leaves both my strands and my scalp feeling clean and smelling good after each wash.

Plus, the blend of shea butter and avocado oil found in the mix makes it super easy to finger comb my hair before I go in to detangle. On top of that, ingredients like rice amino acids and tomato fruit ferment help to clump curls and keep my pattern looking its best.

However, the formula isn't even the best perk.

After using this co-wash for a few weeks, it has given me beautifully soft, smooth, and silky curls that can easily be detangled before I even reach for my wide-tooth comb.

With a mix of clean and natural ingredients, even the biggest product skeptic can feel good about washing their hair with this product. In fact, you may even end up buying the entire line — and I certainly wouldn't blame you.
