Editors December Picks

Looking back, it's clear 2019 has been quite the year for beauty. We both tried out so many new launches, came across some older treasures, and added a few new go-tos to our regular routines.

For December, we loved products that brought back our dewy summer glow, kept our bodies moisturized and smelling great, as well as hair accessories that added some extra oomph to our styles sans the extra ouch.

As we both sign off for the year (and the decade), we hope that you'll try and love our final 2019 picks as much as we do. Happy Holidays, from our beauty kits to yours.

Dior - Diorshow Brow Styler Ultra-Fine Precision Brow Pencil

As a victim of '00s brows, I'm always on the hunt for that perfect eyebrow product — and I think I've finally found it. This super fine pencil gives me just the right amount of fill-in and definition to make it look like I've got thicker brows, all without making them jump off my face. And it lasts all day long without smudging. If I want an extra bold look, I pair it with the Diorshow Pump 'N' Brow eyebrow mascara to give me a bushy finish.

Sincerely Jules - Satin Turban Headband

I'm someone who loves the look of headbands, but I rarely ever wear them because of the headache they end up giving me midday. However, Sincerely Jules' line is a game-changer. These on-trend hair accessories definitely create a statement look, but without adding any pressure to the sides of my head. And the headband I tried was so lightweight that I completely forgot I was even wearing it by the end of the day.

Acqua Di Parma - Body Cream

This is hands down the best-smelling lotion I've ever used. The brand uses their signature Colonia scent as the fragrance and I just cannot get enough. So whether I'm going out somewhere special, or just running errands, I always make sure to have this cream in my bag. Plus, it makes my skin feel silky smooth during the driest time of the year.

Nécessaire - The Body Serum

I’ll admit, I was skeptical about Nécessaire’s Body Serum. Would it make a noticeable difference in my skin to justify the extra step it adds to my already extensive skincare routine? The short answer is yes. Formulated with hyaluronic acid and ceramides, this lightweight serum instantly softens skin and seals in moisture. I’ve used it alone on days where my skin is average-dry, and as a pre-moisturizer boost on days when my skin is extra thirsty.

Kosas - Wet Oil Lip Gloss

After spending the early 2000s with my lip gloss sticking strands of my hair to my lips, I swore off the stuff. However, when one of my favorite clean beauty brands, Kosas, came out with a gloss, I was intrigued enough to give a shiny lip a second chance. This lipgloss treatment plumps and hydrates lips on top of adding a wash of color — without any stickiness. Malibu, a cool pink shade has quickly become one of my go-to lip colors, but Jaws, a warm red is ideal for a toned-down red lip.

RMS Beauty - Living Luminizer

For anyone who likes their highlighter dewy — not sparkly — the RMS Beauty Living Luminizer is for you. This OG clean beauty brand is a cult-favorite, but I somehow have never tried it until this month, and I’m pissed at myself for sleeping on it. The cream instantly melts into skin and is easy to apply. I use my ring finger to tap it on my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose to get that inevitable glow I’m always chasing. My shade is Magic Luminizer, but it comes in a couple other colors that work with a variety of skin tones and their corresponding undertones.
