Full disclosure: I am both a Virgo and Jamaican, which means I am a clean freak to the fullest extent. So you can only imagine my over-the-top horror when COVID first became a thing.

Obviously, hand washing was already a habit of mine long before the pandemic began, but once quarantine started in March 2020, I went into overdrive.

After touching anything that may have been handled by another person, or touched the ground, or touched anything else that wasn't already in my home, I would go into a hand washing frenzy. And while my skin was left squeaky clean, my hands also turned into a dry, irritated, eczema flare up mess in the process — and my regular lotion just wasn't cutting it anymore.

So thank God La Mer decided to reformulate its serum into a hand care product, because it saved my skin from it's undeniably rough, flaky state.

Whenever I'd wash my hands (and also in the morning and before bed), I'd layer this serum on under my regular lotion. Not only did it provide an extra kick of moisture, but La Mer's signature Miracle Broth also helped to repair the appearance of my hardworking hands and made them look more supple over time.

At $115 a pop, this serum definitely doesn't come cheap. But if you're in the mood to treat yourself to a bit of luxury, then you truly cannot go wrong with La Mer. Plus, I've had this serum for about eight months now and it's nowhere near finished. So a little really does go a long way.
