8 Products Kardashian-Approved Hairstylist Justine Marjan Can't Live Without
Just five years ago, Justine Marjan responded to hairstylist Jen Atkin’s open call for aspiring assistants on Instagram. Marjan wanted the job so badly that she moved from her hometown of Santa Barbara to Los Angeles to get it.
She went on to become Atkin’s right-hand woman for two years, and got her first solo gig styling singer Kelly Rowland on Atkin’s suggestion. But it was the braided look Marjan created for her second celebrity client, Kim Kardashian, that catapulted her to social-media fame.
After the moment went viral, “I was doing braids for her all the time,” says Marjan, who as a child offered her plaiting services on the beach for $20. These days, when she’s not collaborating with stars like Ashley Graham and Madeline Brewer, Marjan is the one who fields messages from up-and-coming talents. “I have a post [on my Instagram Stories] now looking for my fashion-week team,” she says.
Here, eight products she carries with her through it all.

Tresemmé Root Touch-Up Spray
After parting hair, Marjan mists on this temporary tint to camouflage the scalp. This trick makes hair appear fuller.
She always carries hand sanitizer to remove product residue, and this dispenser, which sprays and holds wipes, is a favorite.
GHD Platinum+ Styler
For “relaxed waves,” she wraps sections of hair around the curved edges of this flatiron. The shapes are less uniform than what you’d get with a curling iron, she says.
Crochet Hook and Ribbon
Marjan uses a crochet hook to loop ribbons and beads through strands.
Tresemmé Between Washes Smooth Renew Anti-Frizz Cream and Ouai Hair Oil
For sleek looks, Marjan works this lightweight oil through hair before polishing ends with an anti-frizz cream.
