I'm going to let you in on a secret. Despite my status as a beauty writer, I've yet to fully master the art of eye makeup application. I don't have the patience for it, or maybe I'm just not meant to be a makeup artist. No matter the reason, I've come to expect that I need products that are foolproof for artistry amateurs like myself. When it comes to eye shadow, I'm genuinely obsessed with how easy it is to use the About-Face Shadowsticks.

A hero product in Halsey's makeup line, the Shadowstick is a creamy, stick-shaped eyeshadow. Currently available in 12 colors, including my personal favorite ,Ready Set Saffron, Shadowstick creates intensely pigmented eye color with one swipe. Smooth when applied, the buttery soft formula practically melts on the eyelid.

About-Face sent me multiple color samples of the eyeshadow stick to try, and I love each and every one. Kill the Lights, a matte black, looks perfect as a smoky liner, while Acidic, a pearly chartreuse, is vibrant and sparkly without appearing overpowering on the lid. Not only is this some of the simplest eye makeup I've ever used, each Shadowstick also has serious staying power, with the brilliant colors lasting me from the morning until I remove my makeup at night.

For those that prefer to get a little creative with their eye makeup, an accompanying shaper allows you to more artfully define the line. As for myself, I typically draw a straight line across my lid and then smudge the color outward with my finger. Multiple About-Face reviewers wrote of using the stick like a liner, while others wore it on the lower waterline and as an eye wing.

"These give me all-day wear (with or without primer). I love wearing these on my lower lash, as they will not crease and I never have to reapply," one About-Face reviewer wrote. Another shopper agreed, writing, "I absolutely love them, they are extremely pigmented. They go on easy and they are so much fun to play with. Plus the black and the white are very helpful and can be used like eyeliner."
