It was an unseasonably chilly day in Los Angeles, but superstars like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (in vintage Hermes) helped heat things up at the 2008 Screen Actors Guild Awards. A cast of A-listers including Cate Blanchett, Javier Bardem and Eva Longoria Parker proved that glamour is alive and well in Hollywood as they headed inside the Shrine Auditorium for the ceremony where actors honor their own.

"There's a bit of a plague of pregnant women," observed double-nominee Cate Blanchett, who accentuated her baby bump with a gorgeous strapless gown from Balenciaga by Nicolas GhesquiĆØre.

Eva Longoria Parker
"It's about your peers nominating you," said Eva Longoria Parker, who showed off her sexy back in a dramatic Naeem Khan gown. Which actors are on Longoria Parker's list of those deserving of accolades? "Ellen Page. She's so young, but she's going to be hot, hot, hot for a long time," said the Housewife, who caught the attention of Hairspray co-stars Elijah Kelly and James Marsden and got hugs and kisses from Entourage's Jeremy Piven.

Debra Messing and Christina Applegate
"I'm like a baby with shiny things! It's beautiful and it swishes on the bottom," said Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate of her brilliant Elie Saab gown. Applegate's fellow nominee, Debra Messing, also went for a dazzling dress, opting for an Oscar de la Renta gown with a jeweled neckline. "I have to show these to you," Messing said of her seven-yes, seven-inch Sergio Rossi heels. "I'm OK now, but talk to me at the end of the night!"

Rebecca Romijn
"I used to walk down a runway in my underpants...I'm Rebecca Romijn and I'm a model-turned-actor," said the Ugly Betty star as she helped kick off the show. Where was the newlywed's hot husband, Jerry O'Connell? "I don't have a date tonight, he's in writing class," Romijn, in a va-va-voom dress by Roberto Cavalli, explained.

James Gandolfini and Edie Falco
"No one is luckier than me!" declared Edie Falco, who scored a SAG for the now-ended HBO series, The Sopranos. Falco shared the wealth with her small screen leading man, James Gandolfini, who won for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series. Later, the whole cast took the stage to accept the trophy for Best Ensemble Cast.

Javier Bardem & More!
"I don't think they have this channel in Spain!" said No Country for Old Men star Javier Bardem, when asked by E!'s Giuliana Rancic if his family was watching. Once informed that they could tune in, Bardem made sure to send his love over the airwaves. "Hi mommy!" he called, before heading inside to mingle with Woody Harrelson and Tommy Lee Jones and pick up the award for Best Supporting Actor.

Kate Beckinsale
Kate Beckinsale had her husband, director Len Wiseman (not pictured) do a last minute dress check before gliding down the red carpet in her lemon yellow Luisa Beccaria gown. "It's such a miserable day here I thought I'd bring a little sunshine," the beautiful Brit explained of her color choice. How does the actress maintain her stunning shape? "I try not to eat all the brownies in the cupboard," she sighed.

Who would be first on her list if America Ferrera got to choose who went home with SAG awards? "Vanessa Williams! She deserves it!" said the Ugly Betty star, who showed off her shapely frame in a mermaid gown by Monique Lhuillier.

Ellen Pompeo said she picked her head-turning silver gown by Nina Ricci from the pages of a magazine. The Grey's guys got suited up in their finest for the occasion too. "We're getting dressed up and having fun!" said Justin Chambers (not pictured). "We enjoy what we do for a living."

Zac Efron and Michelle Pfeiffer
"I don't know how I got invited!" a star struck Zac Efron (in John Varvatos) told E! on the red carpet before sitting down with his Hairspray co-star, Michelle Pfeiffer (in Versace). Efron singled out Woody Harrelson as one of the actors he admires and Woody later reciprocated the compliment, saying that his kids were big High School Musical fans.

Tina Fey
"I want to thank SAG for considering me an actor at all," said a stunned Tina Fey (in Alberta Ferretti) as she accepted her award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. Fey's 30 Rock co-star, Alec Baldwin, won the award for Best Actor in his category.

Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane
What's the key to Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane's happy union? "Communication," Gayheart told E! on the red carpet. "Yeah, she's right about everything, always," Dane clarified. All kidding aside, the couple were certainly in perfect harmony when it came to their attire-Dane complemented Gayheart's red Marchesa dress perfectly in his dapper Armani tux.

"We have to say hi to our mom," said Best Actor nominee Ryan Gosling, who brought along his big sister (not pictured) for the ceremony. Gosling also had Heath Ledger on his mind, wearing an emblem on his suit jacket in remembrance of the star.

Joey Fatone and Lisa Rinna
"I have been a SAG member for 22 years. My first job was a Mervins commercial," said Lisa Rinna. The Dancing With the Stars alum kicked up her heels on the red carpet with Joey Fatone. "It felt playful!" Rinna said when asked how she chose her wild leopard-print Jenny Packham frock.
