King Richard star Saniyya Sidney may have just wrapped playing a young Venus Williams from back in the day, but her 2022 Oscars makeup was influenced by the new season: spring.

Working with none other than renowned makeup artist Dana Delaney and Chanel for her red carpet glam, the young star's look proved that even for one of Hollywood's biggest nights, you can never go wrong with keeping things simple.

"My inspiration for tonight's makeup was spring forward — blossoming florals with fresh spring dew," Delaney shares with InStyle. "I wanted a fresh, clean, and dewy look."

The makeup artist prepped the actress's skin using Chanel N°1 de Chanel Revitalizing Cream and Revitalizing Serum-In-Mist. Next, she evened out Sidney's complexion with the Revitalizing Foundation in BR132 and BR152, Le Correcteur de Chanel Longwear Concealer in BR92 and BD121, and Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in N°60. She added color to her cheeks using N°1 de CHANEL Lip and Cheek Balm in Vital Beige.

For eyes, the makeup artist kept her lids neutral with Chanel's Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in Ultra Flesh, and gave her fluttery lashes with the luxury brand's Inimitable Mascara in Noir.

When it came to lips, the makeup artist stayed on theme, using Rouge Allure L'Extrait Lipstick in 812. "I used a more neutral shade for this to bring more richness to her lip," Delaney shares. "Chanel Rouge Allure L'Extrait Lipstick in 812 was the perfect color to use, as it created a beautiful sheen that gave a subtle glossy and full look to the lips."
