She's up for Best Actress for her role in The United States vs. Billie Holiday. She's competing against Viola Davis, Frances McDormand, Vanessa Kirby, and Carey Mulligan. "We're just sharing this space, we are representing multiple stories, and we are loving on each other. I'm celebrating them, rooting for them," Day told People. Day arrived at the ceremony wearing a metallic gold custom Vera Wang Haute Couture cutout gown with a next-level slit that left her entire right leg exposed. She wore her hair in a high bun and accessorized with gold dangling earrings, a jewel-encrusted chain-link bracelet, and a series of glittering rings.
