Jennifer Lopez Wore a Cowboy Hat With a Low-Cut, Thigh-Slit Gown at the Met Gala
Can someone make a movie around this look, please?
Well, it looks like Jennifer Lopez just added another history-making fashion moment to her résumé, because there's no way we'll ever forget what she wore to the 2021 Met Gala. A low-cut, high-slit leather-look dress, complete with a cowboy hat, cuffs, and western-inspired jewelry? Yeah, we'll be thinking about this one to years to come.
Clearly, Lopez and her stylists, Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, nailed the American Independence theme with this Ralph Lauren look. Just taking it all in, with the singer and actress' power stance, as she drags her faux-fur jacket along the ground, we're tempted to scream, "What movie is this and when can we see it?!" (Please, someone, anyone — use this as a prompt.)
Just like years past, there were many different ways to interpret the Met Gala's theme. Some went with political statements. Others opted for nostalgia. And while J.Lo's ensemble was definitely on the creative side, there were still elements that kept it in line with her signature style, which is always statement-making and sexy.
Of course, we can't mention Lopez these days without wondering where her other half, Ben Affleck, is. The actor was actually in attendance, too, and the two shared a sweet masked moment kissing for the cameras. To be honest, we'd argue that this iconic American couple is right on theme, too.
