The sixth InStyle Awards will be a night to honor the biggest talents and icons in fashion, beauty, and pop culture and will take place Monday, Nov. 15 at the beautiful Getty Center in Los Angeles. Just as in years past, you can expect to see all your favorite celebrities, stylists, and makeup artists out to play in their best dressed, as well as more viral red carpet moments (i.e., Julia Roberts matching her stylist Elizabeth Stewart in Givenchy or Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato sharing a BFF moment in front of our famous INSTYLE letters). Getty Images The intimate cocktail reception, dinner party, and awards presentation — sponsored by Christian Louboutin, FIJI Water, Citizen Watches, Bird in Hand Wine, Cadillac — will celebrate standout women and men who have changed their respective industries, like the oh-so-badass Congresswoman Katie Porter and her sidekick white board and Simone Biles for her courageous act of putting her mental health first at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, who will both be honored by their peers and celeb presenters to sing their praises. And for the first time ever, our world-famous social media experience "The Elevator" will make an appearance at the InStyle Awards. This year's design is by artist Stefan Beckman, creator of fashion and pop-culture art, editorial campaigns, exhibits, and more. "Since an elevator can be an ordinary thing we all know, I wanted to create an environment that was bold and impactful, not your usual elevator we all have taken before. A graphic pop world that is upbeat and optimistic," says Beckman. "Going up?!" Douglas Friedman "The Elevator" videos, which feature cute moments between the biggest names in Hollywood, will be directed by renowned photographer Douglas Friedman. Another first for the elevator? The videos will be entirely shot on the iPhone13 Pro Max and edited on the MacBook Pro with M1 Pro, an idea straight from the genius of Friedman's mind. Typically celebrities take a trip in our luxury photo experience at the Golden Globes, but since the Globes (along with our iconic elevator) were virtual this year, we're bringing the experience back in person for its InStyle Awards debut. "At InStyle, we celebrate the brilliant, creative and yes, stylish voices who drive the culture forward," says InStyle Editor in Chief Laura Brown. "We couldn't be more excited that the InStyle Awards will return — bigger, better and with the infamous elevator!" You can follow along with the event here, and be sure to check back for updates on some of the biggest names in Hollywood as they walk the red carpet, pose with the InStyle sign, and commemorate their closest friends for their bold achievements. 2021 InStyle Awards Honorees Icon: Melissa McCarthy The Original: Simone Biles Designer: Michael Kors Voice of Style: Jason Bolden Hair Stylist: Lona Vigi Makeup Artist: Nina Park Fashion Stylist: Samantha McMillen Badass Woman: Congresswoman Katie Porter Future of Fashion: Anifa Mvuemba 2021 InStyle Awards Presenters Hannah Einbinder Elle Fanning Amanda Gorman Kate Hudson Nicole Kidman Zoë Kravitz Christian Louboutin Storm Reid Reese Witherspoon Keep your eyes peeled for our social media posts tonight for the best looks and surprise appearances, and check back on Tuesday for the breakout stories from the 2021 InStyle Awards.
