"It was fun," said Duff, of playing a racy pop star from war-torn Central Asia in the satire, co-starring John Cusack. "It was really different from the pop music I sing. I had to be a little sexier then I normally am on stage."

Matthew Brodrick and Brittany Snow re-teamed for the premiere of their Tribeca offering, Finding Amanda. How did Snow's parents react when the actress-whose previous film credits include squeaky clean teen roles in movies like Hairspray-react when they heard their daughter was auditioning to play a prostitute? "They saw the script and thought it was hilarious-they were dying for me to do it," Snow said. "But it isn't a prostitute role where there are a lot of sex scenes or anything! It's a black comedy!"

"I feel very blessed," said Mariah Carey, as she walked the red carpet-surrounded by a movie star entourage-at the world premiere of Tennessee. Carey's co-star Lance Reddick claimed that the songstress got no star treatment on the set of the low budget flick. "We were shooting a scene and Mariah screamed," Reddick recalled. "I broke character and asked her what was wrong. She said, 'Nothing, I'm acting!'"

A suave Nick Cannon joined his Ball Don't Lie co-stars Emilie de Ravin and Jeremy Sisto to celebrate the premiere of the basketball-themed flick at the AMC 19th St. theater. Asked about his rumored relationship with Mariah Carey, Cannon laughed then showed off his athletic ability by sprinting the rest of the way into the theater.

"I've learned that my complaints are silly and ridiculous compared to most people," Madge, who is in the process of adopting an orphan from the poverty-stricken country said. "Going to Africa has really put things in perspective for me."

Amid fans clamoring to take pictures and get autographs, Leighton Meester and the rest of the cast of Killer Movie debuted their slasher film. The Gossip Girl is one of the first to go-think Drew Barrymore in Scream-in the thriller, which follows a reality television crew stranded in a remote town with a killer on the lose. "We had this joke that it was like summer camp," Meester reminisced. "We had so much fun and we all got along really well!" More fun was to be had during the after-party at Marquee, where Meester was spotted cozying up with Gossip Girl co-star Sebastian Stan.

The Tribeca Film Festival started off with a big bang-and even bigger laughs-at the premiere of Baby Mama, held at New York City's famed Ziegfeld theater. "We shot the movie in New York City, so it's an honor to open the festival," said Amy Poehler (in Alberta Ferretti) who plays a slacker surrogate mom-to-be opposite SNL alum Tina Fey in the funny flick. What was Fey's favorite part of shooting with her former Weekend Update co-anchor? "She's shorter then me," the funny lady (in Bill Blass) quipped.

Also on hand for the belly laughs at the Baby Mama premiere was Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Kristen Bell. The petite starlet showed up to support rumored flame Dax Shepard, who plays Poehler's greedy common law husband in the film.
