But when it’s time to give the new wave of supermodels a run for their money, you can always count on Naomi Campbell, darling. Enter Azzedine Alaïa’s fall 2017 couture show, where the 47-year-old catwalk master let the pack for the legendary designer’s return to couture after six years. Opening the show in the first of 68 looks, Campbell owned the runway with confidence and strutted one foot before the other in zipper boots, black tight leggings, and a fabulous white fur A-line coat one could wear all winter long. Her plastic-wrap headpiece made her look like the Alaïa goddess that she is. After all, she shares a decades-old friendship with the designer. Halfway through the show, fellow top model Karlie Kloss also made a rare catwalk appearance in a black leather coat with a platinum ‘do. WWD/REX/Shutterstock For Campbell, the party ended with her final look, a black cap-sleeve dress with a pleated bottom that felt as classic as it did fresh.
