The show materials reminded us that Christian Dior loved the color blue with a quote from the designer: "Among all the colors, navy blue is the only one which can ever compete with black." Blue, the booklet says, was the color du jour in 20th-century painting (think Picasso). So we saw blue everywhere: in the lighting, the suede seats, the music (yes, the blues), and, of course, the clothing. Every. Single. Look. Was. Blue—or had lots of blue in it.
