Nasha Smith Nasha has extensive experience as a writer, editor, researcher, and proofreader with a focus on print and digital publishing as well as academic papers. She got her first taste of journalism in 2008 as a writer for her undergraduate campus newspaper, The Gramblinite. For her efforts, Nasha was awarded the National HBCU Student News Media Award for Best Sports Feature as voted on by the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and Washington Post. In 2012, she was hired as a journalist for a local paper in St. Lucia covering internationally renowned jazz festivals, carnival events and up and coming artists before being promoted to editor of a sports and health magazine. Nasha is a major proponent of immersive study abroad experiences. Her international education journey started in 2007 at Grambling State University in rural Louisiana. As a student at Texas Christian University, she won a Global Outlook Fellowship to conduct education research in Europe. In 2018, she was selected as an Erasmus Mundus scholar, completing a two-year integrated-study Master's program in Wales, the Czech Republic, Spain, Greece, Belgium, and Germany. Her work as a freelancer has landed Nasha bylines in InStyle, Lonely Planet, Thrillist, Business Insider, Shondaland, Forbes, Sports Illustrated, Observer, Travel Noire and many more. Nasha also holds a certificate in Women's Entrepreneurship from Cornell University and another in Hospitality Management from Florida Atlantic University.
