When it comes to weddings, there is no doubt that Hollywood has given the world a lot of swoon-worthy moments. Whether it's Grace Kelly's stunning gown in High Society or the fairy-tale wedding decor at Edward and Bella's nuptials in Twilight, we can all thank Tinseltown for providing us with decades of epic wedding inspo that to this day, makes our hearts beat faster.
Sure, some movie weddings may make us sad (we are still not able to talk about A Walk to Remember without choking up) but that's the thing about weddings—they are emotional.
Here, we rounded up the 15 most legendary movie weddings that have become true classics.
VIDEO: Salma Hayek Pinault Gives Us a Peek at Her Wedding
Edward and Bella's wedding was, hands down, the most enchanting affair we've ever seen on the big screen. We still can't get over the sight of the gorgeous flowers cascading from the trees above them. Pure #goals.
2. Love Actually
Mark's surprise for Peter and Juliet at their ceremony also wins Best Wedding Gift award. We're pretty sure this epic music performance of "All You Need Is Love" wasn't on their registry.
And speaking of surprise musical performances, Wilson Phillips's cameo at Lillian and Doug's wedding gave us all the '90s feels. Good one, Helen.
4. Four Weddings and a Funeral
We feel really bad about Henrietta and the way Charles told her he was in love with someone else, but, hey, better late than never, right?!
5. The Godfather
Connie's wedding in The Godfather is, to this day, one of the most memorable moments in film history. The wedding was shot in Staten Island, NY, and had 750 local extras in it.
6. The Graduate
The movie may be 50 years old, but Elaine's gorgeous wedding dress is timeless.
7. My Big Fat Greek Wedding
We love everything about this movie, especially the fact that Nia Vardalos's real family was in the wedding scene at the end of the movie, on the bride's side, of course.
8. A Walk to Remember
We're not crying, you are crying.
9. Sex and the City
Leave it to Carrie Bradshaw et Cie to provide us with all the wedding inspo we'll ever need.
10. The Runaway Bride
Julia Roberts makes running in wedding dresses look like the chicest thing to do.
11. Mamma Mia!
We are certain Amanda Seyfriend's dreamy wedding dress is still serving up major gown inspo for brides around the globe.
12. Father of the Bride
Steve Martin's heartwarming (and hilarious) performance in Father of the Bride culminates at his daughter's beautiful nuptials that reportedly would cost more than $249 thousand to recreate in real life.
13. High Society
Grace Kelly's silk organza wedding dress in High Society (1957) is still one of the most beautiful gowns we've ever seen.
14. My Best Friend's Wedding
Fun fact—in the original script of this 1997 romantic comedy, Julia Roberts' character was supposed to meet a new guy at her best friend's wedding, but test audiences hated that ending. Why? "They wanted her dead,” the movie's director P.J. Hogan told EW. “They just couldn’t understand her motives.” Yikes.
15. It Happened One Night
This classic 1937 romantic comedy about a runaway heiress who meets (and falls in love) with a reporter on her way back to her husband, was shot in just four weeks. Even though the movie wasn't an instant hit, it swept the Oscars in 1935 and was the first movie to win the awards for best picture, director, actor, actress, and adapted screenplay.
