Abbi Abrams and Ilana Wexler never shy away from taking a risk. Whether its in their love lives, career choices, or even their wardrobes, there’s no telling what Broad City’s electric duo will do next—and that’s just how we like it. This season, we saw the characters—played by the series’ co-creators, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer—struggle their way through Trump’s America while trying to figure out who they are and what they’re doing in life. And, as always, they wore some crazy outfits along the way.

"This is a season where Abbi and Ilana are both kind of starting fresh," costume designer Staci Greenbaum says in a behind-the-scenes video about the show's wardrobe, at top. There was no shortage of out-there ensembles as they hit reset. From Ilana’s jean jacket featuring the faces of important women in her life to the 2011 flashback episode that gave us a Free People-wearing and unnecessary-belt-loving Abbi, the sky was the limit fashion-wise.

The most memorably over-the-top outfits were undoubtedly the seven looks each character wore during a trip to a Florida retirement community. “The funny thing about the Florida outfits were, like, we kind of looked cute—they’re not just ridiculous,” says Glazer, pointing out that the episode’s inspired looks exemplified the show’s overall style. “If fashion is art that you’re wearing, we are wearing subtle, nuanced comedy.”
