Amanda Bynes has shied away from the spotlight since publicly grappling with personal mental health issues and falling under the conservatorship of her mother since 2014. But on Saturday, the 31-year-old actress made a rare public appearance.

Bynes was photographed at a grocery store in Los Angeles and kept it casual in black jeans, a white tee, a beige cardigan, combat-like boots, and a chain strap Chanel crossbody. The blonde paired her look with ‘70s-like optical lenses as she walked down an escalator.

In June, the former Easy A and Amanda Show star gave her first interview in four years and discussed what life’s been like since becoming sober. “I love it,” she said. “I learned how to sew, I make patterns, and I want to start a clothing line in the future.” She also talked about going hiking, taking on spinning classes, and helping the homeless.

In addition, Bynes discussed her return to acting. “I do miss acting,” she said, adding, “and I actually have something surprising to tell you, I’m going to start acting again. I want to do TV, maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I’m a fan of, and maybe another TV show where I’m the star of it, in the future.”

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for her return to Hollywood.
