Another day, another gorgeous Zendaya hairstyle we can't wait to try our hands at. For the CFDA Fashion Fund Awards last night in New York City, the star wore an oversized top knot featuring soft textured details that instantly elevated the classic look. "This is different from your usual that's just wrapped around a ponytail," says her hairstylist Jennifer Yepez. "It's a style anyone at home can do, and it always looks great." The pro began by misting Zendaya's mid-lengths and ends with a layer of CHI Total Protect ($16; ulta.com), then coated her strands from root to tip in the Volume Booster Bodifying Glaze ($15; ulta.com) before blow-drying with a Mason Pearson Brush ($150; nordstrom.com). "I started from the nape of the neck, taking sections and blowing her hair dry in an upward motion to make sure I had a nice, smooth ponytail as the foundation," says Yepez. "I continued drying all the hair at the back upward, then blew the front portion dry, brushing backwards."

She anchored Zendaya's lengths into a high ponytail with a hooked elastic, then wound medium-sized sections around a 1-inch curling iron to add drama. After a veil of CHI Infratexture Dual Action Hairspray ($16; ulta.com), Yepez used her hands to scrunch the star's hair into the oversized shape, and secured the look with hairpins. Taming any unexpected flyaways served as the final step. "I like to spray a small toothbrush with the Enviro 54 Firm Hold Hairspray ($11; ulta.com) to make sure everything below the texture and volume in the bun is super-sleek," she adds. "Then, I use hairspray all over the final bun to hold that shape." Perfect!
