Zendaya isn’t afraid to share the spotlight. That’s precisely why the 19-year-old singer, actress, and budding entrepreneur has teamed up with AOL to launch the brand’s Makers Stories app, which is now giving 50 lucky women the opportunity to star in a music video alongside the “Neverland” singer and fellow stars like Missy Elliott and Kelly Clarkson, People reports.
So what’s the project being pieced together for? In support of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let Girls Learn initiative, which helps girls around the globe stay in school, the video will find the crooners singing along to “This Is for My Girls,” the catchy song they previously teamed up on to support and empower the cause. Not only will the stars lend their talent for the clip, but you, too, can star in the video by creating your own clip on the new app, which encourages users to share stories of leadership and perseverance.
“Sticking with your vision and what you believe in is so, so important,” Zendaya says in the video below, where she talks about all things confidence. “There are so many people that are going to tell you what you should think of yourself, and it’s so important that you look at yourself, you become happy with yourself, and confident in your own opinions and your own strength—and stay with that because it’s so hard, especially if you’re young. People always want to doubt you.”
The final results will premiere on May 23 at The United State of Women, a White House-hosted summit that’ll highlight women and girls who truly run the world.
