First shoes and now bags! Sarah Jessica Parker has given Fendi’s 3Baguette—a newly issued spin-off of the original Baguette—the famous SJP treatment. Earlier this year, the luxury brand announced the "3Baguette Project," a collaborative effort that enlisted the help of five stars, like Rihanna, model Jourdan Dunn, artist Rachel Feinstein and Man Repeller's Leandra Medine, and, yes, SJP, to each personally customize a 3Baguette in celebration of the new New York flagship store on 598 Madison Avenue, with proceeds to benefit the charity of their choice.
After much anticipation, the moment has finally arrived, and Parker's, whose ties with Fendi run deep from her Sex and the City days, is the first to surface. Her bag is gilded all over in metallic-treated leather (of course) and accented with graphic color-block panels of black, violet, white, and deep azure, along with the classic Fendi buckle.
"For me there's a real sentimental value attached to the brand. Fendi was integral in the storytelling on Sex and the City, and was the first big fashion house that worked with us," Parker says. "Not many others allowed us the opportunity to have access and help shape our story. It was an important moment that helped give us greater fashion credibility. It's such an important, historic house and I love how gracious and bold they always are."
SJP's 3Baguette will benefit Brain Trauma Foundation, an organization with a mission to improve traumatic brain injury. The five bags will be on a month-long display at the new flagship store from Feb. 13 to March 13, and each can be purchased from the auction site, 3baguetteauction.fendi.com
