The Adidas Originals by Kanye West Yeezy Season 1 collection finally made its way into stores last Thursday, and eager fans didn't waste any time scoring one of Kanye West's coveted pieces.
Tom Kalenderian, the executive vice president and general merchandise manager of men's and Chelsea Passage at Barneys New York, told WWD that customers had to receive wristbands on Wednesday night in order to shop the collection on Thursday.
It seems that the most popular item was the 950 Boot, which retails for $585. It was the first to sell out at Barneys and at Wish, a streetwear store based in Atlanta.
In Texas, Keith Tran, co-owner of Black Market USA, said, "By the time the doors opened in the morning, we had about 35 to 40 people in line with most waiting for over three hours. The first person waited 12 hours to shop the collection."
It looks like the collection was certainly worth the wait and the luxury price tags. West gave us a look into all of the hard work that went into the Yeezy Season 2 creation and it's clear why customers flocked to the stores. Judging by its overwhelming appeal, we have a feeling next season's line will do just as well, if not better!
