Lupita Nyong’o’s magnificent pearl Calvin Klein Collection gown was one of the most talked about dresses at the Academy Awards. But now, not even a week after Sunday's ceremony, people are talking about it for a different reason: The dress has been stolen.

The piece disappeared from the actress's room at the London Hotel in West Hollywood while she was out and police told the Los Angeles Times that "the value of the dress is part of the investigation and "no arrests have been made." Nyong'o's representative and the hotel have yet to comment on the heist.

The custom-made gown was the result of months of collaboration between Nyong'o and designer Francisco Costa's team. Adorned with 6,000 rare white Akoya pearls the dress is reportedly worth $150,000 and took 25 people 10 weeks to complete.

It's not the exactly the kind of dress that would go under the radar on eBay, so let's hope that the perpetrator sees sense and returns it to Costa ASAP.
