Universal Pictures released five new trailers for their epic Christmas Day musical, Les Miserables this weekend. The clips show stars Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, and Amanda Seyfried belting out tunes from the iconic Broadway show, as well as newcomer Samantha Barks (shown above) singing one of the show's most infamous songs, "On My Own." The short snippets—each only about a minute long—reveal in more detail one of the movie's biggest selling points: that all the songs are sung live, not recorded post-filming. And not just that—the clips lead us to believe that there is actually no speaking in the film at all, and that all the lines are delivered in song. The costuming and makeup are also interesting to behold, as they seem to accurately portray the dismal circumstances characters like Hathaway's Fantine and Barks's Éponine are forced to face. Watch the clip above and head over to the film's YouTube account to watch the remaining four.
