Happy birthday to Tyra Banks! Yes, we're talking about the fabulous and always-candid supermodel who expertly taught America how to "smize," or smile with your eyes, during her 22 cycles as host of America's Next Top Model. Congrats, Tyra!
Born 42 years ago today, Banks has now spent a majority of her life in the limelight. Beginning her modeling career at the age of 15, Banks was first signed to L.A. Models, before switching to Elite Model Management. She then went on to be the first-ever African American woman to grace the covers of GQ and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
Not only has Banks tried her hand at modeling, but she's also known for her acting skills. In 2000, she starred in both the made-for-TV movie, Life-Size and the box-office hit film, Coyote Ugly. And, adding to her long list of titles, Banks also became an author in 2010 when she published her first young adult novel titled Modelland.
Considering all that she's accomplished, Banks has plenty to celebrate on her birthday. Here's to Banks, the superwoman who never stops, all while looking fabulous.
