The brunch scene in Los Angeles just seriously heated up. Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, and Ludo Lefebvre, the L.A. chefs behind cult favorite restaurants Trois Mec and Petit Trois, have reteamed on Trois Familia, their new French-Mexican brunch spot in Silver Lake, Calif. The trio created a casual neighborhood café that serves up unique twists on classic dishes, all during daytime hours.
While the whole menu looks delish, we particularly recommend the churro French toast, beet tartare tostada, and the crispy hash brown chilaquiles with avocado. Feeling extra hungry? A round of double decker potato tacos will do the trick (you won’t miss the meat; these hard-shelled tacos are filled with potatoes, crème fraiche, and a shredded carrot pico de gallo). Wash it all down with the house made horchata—a must, of course.
Extra points: Trois Familia’s kid-friendly interior offers a much different vibe than the group's other Hollywood hotspots. White picnic benches give a communal feel and the walls are painted in vibrant blues and corals. Succulents and other greenery bring an earthy element to the space and complete the nuevo Mexican decor. Bring your foodie friends but take note: Trois Familia has a no reservations policy, so arrive early and expect a well-worth-it wait!
