It's no secret that Taylor Swift loves her two cats Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson—so much so that she has even gotten them modeling gigs and been spotted toting them around the streets of New York City on multiple occasions.

So just how did she come up with their clever names? Both cats are named for two of Swift's favorite TV characters—Meredith after Ellen Pompeo’s character on Grey's Anatomy, and Olivia after Mariska Hargitay’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit character. In an exclusive behind-the-scenes video from her November cover shoot, Swift reveals why she gave her adorable kitten that specific moniker, and speaks to her crime-fighting ways.

"Her full name is Detective Olivia Benson. What better to name a tiny little kitten than the name of a fierce, female detective," Swift reveals in the below video. "I just really wanted a name that stood for like, crime-fighting and like, cleaning up the streets of New York, which is clearly what this cat is going to do. I feel like her path has already been chosen for her. She going to valiant and brave, and she's going to fight crime."
