After the devastating floods in Louisiana earlier this month, Taylor Swift was one of the first celebrities to step up to the plate.
The "Style" singer vowed to help victims of the flooding—a natural disaster that killed at least 13 people and left thousands homeless in the state—by donating $1 million toward relief efforts. The 26-year-old allocated $50,000 to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank to help rebuild their damaged warehouse and now the charity is reaching out to thank her for her generosity in the cutest way.
"Today @taylorswift donated $50,000 to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank! The #laflood destroyed our warehouse but we are going to shake it off!" the nonprofit organization shared on Thursday via instagram. The post shows a group of employees holding a sign that says, "Thanks Taylor."
And the group wasn't the only charity to express appreciation for the pop star on Thursday. The Salvation Army also took to social media to thank Taylor Swift for her altruism, tweeting, "Thank you @taylorswift13 for helping us serve the #LouisianaFlood survivors by donating to our relief efforts! #DoingTheMostGood."
It's always great to see stars putting their celebrity and money towards a great cause. Visit the websites for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and the Salvation Army's Florida division to donate and find out more ways you can help.
