It's not hard to picture the beautiful, easygoing Taylor Schilling spending her summers in Maine. It is difficult to imagine, however, the Orange Is the New Black star riding wild deer during her summers in Maine. Hold on, let her explain.

The Emmy-nominated actress—who sported a no-frills hairstyle and a breezy white shift dress for her Late Show with David Letterman appearance on Tuesday (white has been a standout color for her this summer; she wore a white A.L.C. dress to a Netflix event last month)—shared a wild part of her childhood. Schilling said that as a 6-year-old visiting her grandmother on an island in Maine, she would play with as well as ride on top of deer. "I clearly was not supervised enough as a child," she joked.
