In an effort to stop feeding the self-hate, Dove teamed up with Twitter at SXSW in Austin to launch a new tool that shows users just how impactful their own social media messages can be. Called the #SpeakBeautiful Effect, this technology is meant to quite literally read between the lines of your tweets to trace how hurtful (or helpful!) the messages you send can be.
Here's how to give it a try yourself: Retweet Dove's invitation to participate—the technology will then comb through the past six months of messages you've posted, looking for body- and beauty-related key words to analyze how those words are used in relation to the subject of your post. Within minutes you'll get a custom analysis of your words. If that isn't food for thought, then we don't know what is.
