"Both mother and child are in good health. Prince Daniel was present at the hospital throughout the birth," according to a statement from the Swedish Royal Court. The parents' new son weighed in at eight pounds and was 20 inches long.

The royal baby is third in line to the throne after his mother and elder sister, 4-year-old Princess Estelle, who was born in February 2012.
