"It's been a frigid winter in N.Y.C.—this earthy shade makes any cold-weather look feel even cozier," says Rodriguez, who opted for a monochromatic rust ensemble after reading February's "Color Crash Course."

It's been a frigid New York winter, which means black, navy, and gray are in heavy wardrobe rotation. After a while, all the dark colors can get depressing. I came across February's "Color Crash Course: Rust" at the opportune time—I just bought this chunky turtleneck from Banana Republic!—and the story motivated me to do a monochromatic look, which takes a lot of the legwork out of mixing and matching patterns. I was even able to corporate an old skater skirt that had been hiding in the back of my closet for a while. The earthy shade really ties an outfit together!
