President Obama has championed the cause of bettering students’ education throughout his presidency, and a few brands are helping him make great strides in the last few months of his administration. STATE Bags, a buy one, give one backpack brand, is partnering with Roc Nation to donate 30,000 backpacks to students in need.

The bags will be distributed among the 30 communities that are a part of Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Success Mentors Initiative—20 of which were announced today as new neighborhoods where the initiative will take root. The MBK Success Mentors Model helps to combat chronic absenteeism and ensure all students are living up to their potential by pairing them with trained mentors. Mentors meet with their students three times per week to help keep them on track and thriving.

For every STATE bag purchased from June 8 to September 8, one bag will be donated to children in the MBK communities. In addition, the brands will engage artists and athletes like NBA star Kevin Durant and NFL star Pierre Garçon to raise awareness of the importantance of school attendance.
