The Force seems to be taking over Paris. Yesterday, French department store Galeries Lafayette celebrated the unveiling of its cosmic Christmas window displays with a Star Wars-themed extravaganza in front of its flagship in the City of Light, and it was one for the books.
The runway show included a parade of Jedi, Stormtroopers, and other notable characters from the franchise like Darth Vader and R2-D2 who all made their way down the street as faux snow fell from the sky. The event kicked off a partnership between Galeries Lafayette and the Walt Disney Co., which has owned the Star Wars franchise since 2012.
For the holiday season, Galeries Lafayette is hosting a special Disney shop-in-shop featuring special Star Wars merchandise like costumes, light sabers, and an exclusive capsule collection designed by French fashion students. And beginning Dec. 5, the neighboring Lafayette Homme store windows will be dedicated to the new Star Wars movie.
Watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens when it hits theaters on Dec. 18.
