The show goes on! NBC just released a sneak peek of the new season of Smash, and we're dancing our toes off beneath our desks to the sound of new cast member Jennifer Hudson belting it out in the 46-second trailer. The short clip proves the second season picks up right where we left off—Julia (Debra Messing) is on rocky footing with her husband and her writing partner Tom (Christian Borle), Karen (Katharine McPhee) is still struggling to find her footing, Ivy (Megan Hilty) is as conniving as ever, and Eileen (Anjelica Huston) just wants to get the lights to turn on for her Marilyn Monroe musical, Bombshell. We're also even more optimistic about the show's new cast members after this quick look: Jeremy Jordan, the hot lead of Broadway's Newsies joins as a love interest, Jimmy, Sean Hayes reunites with his Will & Grace co-star Debra Messing to play Terrence Falls, a star trying to make his Broadway debut, and, of course, Jennifer Hudson shines as Tony Award-winning Broadway star Veronica Moore. Watch the preview above, and see an extended look at yahoo.com. We can't wait until Smash returns on its new night, Tuesdays at 9/8c, starting February 5th. Mark your calendars and warm up those vocal chords to sing along!
