The era of 9-to-5 is over. (Sorry, Dolly!) That's why Elliot Staples, the creative director of the Limited, launched the Luxe capsule, made up of sophisticated cocoon coats, expertly tailored button-detail sheaths, slit pencil skirts, and more, all in an array of lustrous neutrals. It's a must-have follow-up to the success of the retailer's collaboration with Scandal's Kerry Washington and costume designer Lyn Paolo last year. Similarly, this capsule features looks Olivia Pope would wear—even though she didn't design them.

"The Limited Luxe Collection pushes the envelope in terms of stylish workwear," Staples told InStyle. "We upgraded the fabrics and trims so each piece includes heavier linings, inner seam constructions and attention to detail and quality." Yet, they won't push the wallet: Prices start at $50 and range up to $248.

What Staples understands—and gets right—is that women need no-fuss clothes that command power but not attention. "How a woman feels in her clothes can influence everything, from her normal every day, to an important meeting to a career-changing presentation," he says. "The pieces are simple and timeless. They're meant to make a statement."

The goal, he said, is to instill confidence with classiness. "We want to offer women glamorous additions to upgrade her wardrobe for those moments when she feels she needs to take over the room," he said. "And they can!"
