Welcome to InStyle ♥ Los Angeles! Throughout the month of March, we'll be highlighting the bounty of new boutiques, restaurants, and hotels worth braving the city's infamous traffic for. See everything we're loving about L.A. right now.
Interior design duo Mat Sanders and Brandon Quattrone's fresh and edgy style has earned them a roster of A-list clients, including Jessica Alba, Nina Dobrev, and Sophia Bush. Their specialty? Mixing well-appointed furnishings with graphic patterns and unexpected pops of color. Now you can get the pair’s high-end, casual-meets-cool aesthetic in your own pad: Last year Sanders and Quattrone opened Consort, their first brick-and-mortar shop, in West Hollywood.
The 2,000-square foot retail space is filled with pieces reflecting the designers' signature style. Curated with help from partner Marie Goble, Consort houses a mix of modern and vintage furniture, décor, and artwork. You’ll find custom upholstered sofas from Jessica Biel’s stylist Estee Stanley (whom Consort often collaborates with), one-of-a-kind ceramics by Lux/Eros, and Parachute bedding. Expect bright hues and fun patterns that mix well with a variety of design tastes—from traditional to mid-century.
The shop is displayed as fully decorated rooms, like a colorful bedroom (we’re dying for its blue velvet bed frame, $2,700; consort-design.com) and a black and white living room. Gold accents, high-impact pillows, reworked vintage pieces, and bold lighting fixtures are scattered throughout the faux-house. No need to scroll Pinterest, you’ll find tons of inspo right there in the shop.
Not in Los Angeles? Consort's online store holds an equal dose of fab.
