Selena Gomez counted on her fans to help her make her new perfume, so when she launched it in at Macy’s flagship store in New York this weekend, she invited them to come and celebrate. The personal appearance—which drew hundreds of girls to the famous Herald Square location—brought $40,000 in sales of the scent that day. “I love my fans so much and I’m so thankful to them,” Gomez (in Versace) told InStyle.com. “I always say it and this was my chance to prove it.” Each note—pineapple, peach, and vanilla—was chosen through a fan contest. The star, who finished shooting three movies this year and will soon start working on her fourth record, said she has always loved perfume and owns over 20 fragrances. “It’s so emotional and nostalgic for me,” she said.
