One reason Selena Gomez is the most-followed person on Instagram: She has a big heart. The pop star recently used one of her few days off from her Revival world tour to give patients at Boston Children’s Hospital the visit of a lifetime.
The singer visited the hospital on Friday, the day before her show at the TD Garden, People reports. “I have a show in Boston … here, tomorrow. I never know where I am because I’m always on tour,” she joked, according to the outlet. “But I have the day off so I figured I’d come and say hi!”
Gomez took the time to speak with fans and write them personal notes. “You are exactly what I had hoped and pictured in my mind. Sweet, genuine, open. You made sure to look each child in the eye and give them time. Such a simple gesture meant so much,” one mom wrote on Instagram.
The artist also gave patients a little concert of their own. Gomez stepped into Seacrest Studios and reportedly played the bongos and sang along with patients to “Lean on Me.”
And if children couldn’t come to her, Gomez was more than happy to go to them. She donned gloves and a gown and paid bedside visits to young patients who weren’t able to leave their rooms.
“Thanks for meeting my bro @selenagomez,” another happy fan wrote. This mega star certainly knows the power of giving back.
