Those who've been keeping tabs on Selena Gomez's career (especially you Selenators) know that every aspect of her life has been evolving as of late: She underwent chemotherapy after being diagnosed with lupus, she recently dropped her fifth studio album aptly titled Revival, and she's starring in countless movies. And such major changes warrant a brand-new look—enter power stylist Kate Young, the mastermind behind Gomez's new style ethos.

The two were introduced by a mutual friend and "clicked immediately" almost a year and a half ago. Young's favorite looks happened early on in their working relationship—a teeny plunging red Dior dress that Gomez wore to the Los Angeles premiere of Rudderless (below).

"It's the second look we ever did together, but it was the first time where she was different," Young reminisces, naming that look as the beginning of Gomez's style transformation. "We were bringing change with that look, which made me really happy."

Now, the duo have truly hit their stride and are taking the star's fashion A-game to the next level with a streak of on-point outfits (including winter white separates from Michael Kors Collection, top) that have made the industry sit up and take notice. It's a look that's noticeably more grown up without completely tempering any of her youthful charm.

"It's a total collaboration—the dialogue is easy and creative," Young says about working with Gomez. "The whole look of this press tour is about being sleek and grown up and sexy, not slutty or frivolous. We don't want her to look 40. It's about being super modern, cool, and slick."

With performances, red carpet events, and promo tours on the horizon, Gomez's list of appearances run long. "She's so busy—when I get time with her, we try to fit as many outfits as we can," Young says. "It's so much fun—she's full of light and enthusiasm; it's really exciting to be a part of the #revival."
