Selena Gomez has proven herself to be quite the force. She bravely posed nude on the cover of her new album Revival in the face of despite getting flack for a little weight gain. And now she's showing an even more courageous side.
Just a few days ago, the 23-year old singer opened up about her lupus diagnosis in Billboard magazine. By Saturday (Oct. 10), Gomez was back to work, spotted in the Los Angeles airport looking as gorgeous as ever. The "Come and Get It" singer stepped out in an elegant white and black dress with her waist cinched neatly with a skinny black belt. She finished her look with round sunglasses and chunky white and silver sandals.
Gomez dispelled rumors that she canceled the Asian and Australian leg of her tour because of drug addiction. Instead, she was being treated for her autoimmune disease. Lupus can be life-threatening and can cause inflammation in many different body systems including: the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs. She told Billboard: “I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke."
After Gomez opened up about her diagnosis to Billboard, she spoke candidly on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Watch that interview below:
