If you’re a fan of classic, Roald Dahl-penned children’s books like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, and Matilda, listen up. Disney has released the first official poster for the animated adaptation of Dahl’s The BFG and the results are, unsurprisingly, out of this world.
The book follows the story of a larger-than-life character called the BFG and 10-year-old Sophie, a wide-eyed girl who steps into his Giant Country and embarks on a peace-seeking adventure. Naturally, Disney is giving the storyline a magical twist and has tapped Mark Rylance as the voice of the giant. Bill Hader and Jemaine Clement are taking on animated characters, while newcomer Ruby Barnhill plays Sophie.
In the poster, Sophie steps on the giant’s feet, amidst a sun-kissed backdrop that’s worthy of any kid’s imagination. The best part? The film’s director is none other than Steven Spielberg, so expect it to be a huge success.
